Pak-CDP was involved in the earth quake affected areas since October, 2005 and has implemented WASH projects in these areas
Pak-CDP with the support of CRS distributed relief items among 1000 families of Balakot. These included items of basic needs such as plastic tarpaulin, jerry cane and health/hygiene kits in the initial days of earth quake after 8 October, 2005. Pak-CDP implemented a WASH project in Balakot with the support of Norwegian Church Aid. It covered 6 earth quake affected communities of the area.
Pak-CDP with the support of UNICEF implemented a Water Supply, Sanitation and Health/hygiene Education project in earth affected areas of Batagram. The purpose of the project was to provide health/hygiene education in 10 official and spontaneous camps, schools and BHUs located in Tehsil Batagram, construction of 100 latrines and 50 washrooms, disinfection of water supply and solid waste management systems in these 10 camps. The latrines were constructed of such type of material which in case of earth quake will not dangerous for human life. The design of latrines was approved by ERRA.
Pak-CDP with the support of UNICEF successfully implemented a school and community Water Supply, Sanitation and health/hygiene project in earth quake affected areas of Batagram and Alai. The project covered 65 government boys and girls primary schools and Pak-CDP also installed 650 community latrines in the target areas. Health /hygiene education was also provided to the target communities and to the students and teachers of schools. Besides, 24000 cakes of soap were distributed among the target communities. Furthermore, 65 care takers were trained on repair and maintenance of the installed water supply schemes with the aim to make these schemes sustainable. The latrines were constructed of such type of material which in case of earth quake will not dangerous for human life. The design of latrines were approved by ERRA.
During the period from November, 2005 till April 2007 Pak-CDP with the support of CRS implemented Water Supply, Sanitation and Health/hygiene projects in the Earth Quake affected areas of district Mansehra. It covered 51 villages of 3 Union councils of Buggermang, Sachan and Jabberdevli in Siram valley. In these areas, a total numbers of 4550 latrines and rehabilitation of 46 water supply schemes completed. Cash for work remained an integral part of all the activities. The latrines were constructed of such type of material which in case of earth quake will not dangerous for human life. The design of latrines were approved by ERRA.
Pak-CDP with the support of NCA (Norwegian Church Aid) implemented a WASH project in Balakot /Mansehra . Under this project, Pak-CDP rehabilitated 8 gravity water supply schemes, installed 150 latrines and provided health/hygiene education to all the target communities and school students.

Pak-CDP with the support of OXFAM implemented a WATSAN projects in the earth quake affected areas of district Shangla and district Kohistan.
A total of 10 Water supply schemes were rehabilitated and handed over to the community in District Shangla (Swat) and Kohistan. 100 promotional latrines were also provided in 10 communities of the same districts along with health/hygiene education where special focus on women and school children.
Pak-CDP with the support of OXFAM implemented WASH, Livelihood, DRR and Education project in the earth quake affected areas of AJK. The target of the project was to cover 4 UCs of Upper Sharda, Dudnian, Sharda, Kail and Guriz of Naleem Valley. The area is very difficult and risky too. The accessibility to these areas was very difficult and in some cases reaching to some areas was near to impossible. 3 Adult literacy, 3 Non Formal Education centers 3 Pre-school Children Centers been established. Besides, training on DRR was provided to the identified groups of the target communities. All the target communities provided with sanitation and water supply facilities.
Pak-CDP with the support of Japan Embassy implemented a Water supply, Sanitatin and Health/hygiene Education project in Dera Adam Khel. This project included installation of communal hand pumps, installation of submersible pumps and construction of hygienic latrines in the neediest areas of Dera Adam Khel (FATA).
Pak-CDP with the support of Norwegian Church Aid implemented a WASH projects in 3 UCs of district Mardan for the Internal Displaced Persons (IDP shifted from Swat, Buner and Dir) and were living with host communities of Mardan. Under this project 600 flush latrines constructed 65 Afridev hand pumps installed at communal places and hygiene education was provided in the 3 UCs i.e Shahbaz Gahri, Gujrat and Bakhshali of district Mardan.
