PAK-CDP Completed Projects

Camp Development/Wash Projects:

  • Camp development project for IDP (supported by UNHCR from January 2009 to December 2009):

As a result of military operation in Swat, Dir and Buner people of these areas shifted to Peshawar, Mardan and Swabi etc.  Pak-CDP with the support of UNHCR worked on the camp development on 12 camps in Jalozai Nowshera,   Jalala , Shiekh Shahzad, Shiekh Yaseen camps in district Mardan, 4 camps in Yar Hussain Swabi. The camp development included preparing and leveling of land, construction  of roads, construction of drainages , fencing, tent pitching, setting of administration offices, and BHUs. Pak-CDP also was responsible for operation, maintenance and electrification of 18 IDP camps. Besides Pak-CDP constructed 3000 kitchens in Shiekh Shahzad and Jalala, district Mardan.

  • Supply of electricity in Jalozai camp:

Pak-CDP was made responsible for power (electricity) supply in Jalozai camp to the IDPs living in camps.

Besides, Pak-CDP was made responsible for pitching of tents for the IDPs shifted from Khyber Agency.

 

Pak-CDP was involved in verification of the IDPs influx from in Jalozai camp from Khyber Agency. This project is supported by UNHCR.

  • Camp Development in Vallay Kundow, Tamar Gahra, district Lower Dir

Pak-CDP with the support of UNHCR developed one camp in Vallay Kundow, Tamar Gahra, district lower Dir for IDPs who returned to their homes. The camp development included land leveling, construction of drainage, road construction, tent pitching, fencing and electrification etc.

This camp accommodates more the 500 families.

  • Camp Development in Hangu:

Pak-CDP with the support of UNHCR developed one Muhammd Kowaja Camp Vallay Kundow, Tamar Gahra, district lower Dir for IDPs who returned to their homes. The camp development included land leveling, construction of drainage, road construction, tent pitching, fencing and electrification etc.

This camp accommodated more the 500 families.

  • WASH project for IDPs living with host communities in Hangu:

Pak-CDP with the support of Concern World Wide implemented Rapid WASH project for the IPDs living with host communities in Hangu.

  • WASH project for flood affected areas of Nowshera:

Pak-CDP with the of concern World wide implemented a RAPID WASH project for flood affected areas for UC Zara Meana and Khush maqoom. Under this project,  Pak-CDP installed  50 communal handpumps and contructed 400  household latrines and provided hygiene education to the all the flood affected people of target area.

  • WASH project for Schools and community in Mingora Swat:

Pak-CDP with the support of NCA/UNICEF implemented a WASH project at Swat with the support of NCA/UNICEF.  The project was for the Govt. Primary Schools of Tindo Dag UC , Mingora Swat.

  • WASH project for flood affected in District Charsadda:

Pak-CDP with the support of OXFAM (GB) implemented an emergency WASH project for the flood victims of UC Agra of district Charsadda during the year 2010.

Under this project Pak-CDP provided tanker water to about 4527 families. Besides provision of tanker water, Pak-CDP installed 20 communal hand pumps, constructed new latrines and rehabilitated 200 hand pumps. Pak-CDP already distributed 4527 Non Food Items (NFIs) and 4527 hygiene kits among the community women.

  • WASH project for flood affected areas in District Nowshera:

During the year 2010, Pak-CDP with the support of concern World Wide implemented an emergency project in UCs Zara Maina and Choki Mamraz of district Nowshera. Under this project, 50 hand pumps installed, 400 household latrines constructed , 3000 hygiene kits distributed and  hygiene education provided to all the population within both the UCs  of Nowshera.

  • WASH project for Afghan Refugees living in camps:

Pak-CDP with the support of UNHCR  implemented WASH projects for Afghan Refugees living in  camps of KPK .     Besides  Pak-CDP constructed school rooms and school walls in different schools in Afghan Refugee camps of KPK.

  • WASH project for IDPs shifted from Khyber agency:

Pak-CDP with the support of Concern World Wide/OFDA implemented a WASH project for IDPs shifted from Khyber Agency and were living with host communities of Town-III Peshawar.

  • WASH project for Afghan Refugee living in Khazana camp:

Pak-CDP with the support of SDC (Swiss Development Corporation) implemented a WASH project in the Afghan Refugee camp in Khazana camp. Under this project, 300 flush latrines, 25 communal handpumps installed while 12 handpumps rehabilitated, about 1500 meters long drainage was constructed, and about 30,000 cfts ditches were filled.

  • WASH project for Afghan Refugee in 5 camps:

Pak-CDP with the support of SDC (Swiss Development Corporation) implemented WASH projects in  Hajizai, Nagoman, Khurasan Peshawar and Akora Khattack and Khair Abad Nowshera refugee camps. Under this project Pak-CDP installed communal handpumpms, constructed household latrines, ditch filling , improvement of existing drainage system and provided hygiene education to the target community members of Afgahn refugees with special focus on women and children.

  • Water Supply and Hygiene Education project in UC Kundi district Haripur, KPK:

Pak-CDP with the support of SDC implemented a Water Supply and Hygiene Education project in UC Kundi, district Haripur, KPK, Pakistan.  From water point of view, it is a tricky area and  underground water is not available in each place. Under this project after improving the open wells  and digging of new boreholes 29 handpumps were installed.  Besides 2 gravity flow water supply schemes were rehabilitated and made functional. The women and children of the area before the project implementation use to bring the water from far away areas. Now they are getting water from the nearby areas and the response was very positive.

  • WASH project for  off camp IDPs shifted from Wazeristan living in Bannu shifted from Waziristan:

Pak-CDP with support of RAPID/concern World Wide/OFDA implementing a WASH project in UC Hasani, Bannu. Under this project Pak-CDP is constructing house hold latrines, supply of tankers water , provision of hygiene education and distribution of hygiene kits among the IDPs shifted from Wazeristan. The target community is 600 IDPs families.

  • Base Line Survey in 2 agencies of FATA (Khyber and Mohmand Agencies):

Pak-CDP with the support of UNICEF/ USAID and collaboration of FATA administration and Education department conducted a base line survey in Khyber and Mohmand agencies. The aim of the survey is to assess the existing Water Supply and Sanitation facilities in 180 Girls Primary Schools and 90 villages of the said agencies.  Pak-CDP successfully conducted the survey and submitted the report to UNICEF.  Out of these surveyed schools and villages, 90 Girls Primary Schools and 40 villages were picked for Water Supply and Sanitation project in these 2 agencies.
